ABOUT THE ANIMALS
Wolf, Coyote, or Fox?
How to tell the difference between a wolf, a coyote and a fox? Now you may think that you see a wolf but you don't because wolves were driven out of Maine so you probably see a coyote. A coyote has long legs with barely any fur on their legs and a long snout. A wolf has a really thick layer of fur on their body and legs. Wolves have big feet and coyotes have dainty, thin feet. If you see a coyote, just go along with your business and avoid it.
Now foxes and coyotes also look almost exactly the same from far away. They have almost the same shape of body. The difference between a fox and a coyote is that a fox has orange fur, and its neck fur is white, and its legs are black or dark brown. A fox’s tail looks similar to a pine cone because it’s bushy. The fox has a tiny, pointy snout. The coyote is more one plain color, brownish grey all over. A coyote is a bit taller than a fox. So again, if you see one, go along with your business. We doubt any of the animals will hurt you, but just in case, proceed with caution.
You can also spot Grey foxes on your walk through Milliken Mills. Ironically grey foxes look more like a coyote then a red fox because like the coyote it’s all one color all around, but the grey fox is a lot smaller than a coyote. Its ears are a lot smaller than a coyote as well. Its tail looks like a handle to a bushy curved sword. Its eyes are more narrow than round. Its back legs have more fur than the front legs. The grey foxes body has a mix of a red fox and a coyote for thickness of fur.

A toad eats slugs, worms, and other insects. Toads have bumpy and dry bodies, and short legs. A frog has a small squishy and chubby body. A frog's habitat is in a pond, or a brook, or a stream. Frogs eat flies, bugs, and maybe spiders (small spiders). Frogs have slimy squishy bodies.
